Biography:

Director Mallidi Vasishta’s debut movie is Bimbisara, a 2022 Indian Telugu-language fantasy action film. The film stars Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, Vivan Bhatena, and Prakash Raj. In the film, King Bimbisara of the Trigarta Kingdom from the 5th century BC lands in the modern-day world through time travel.

The film was released on February 25, 2022, and was a commercial success. It grossed over ₹100 crore worldwide. The film was praised for its visual effects, action sequences, and performances.

Vasishta is the son of producer Mallidi Satya Narayana Reddy. He started his career as an assistant director in the film industry. He worked as an assistant director on films such as Bodyguard (2012), Dhee (2007), Bunny (2005), and Bhageeratha (2005).

After working as an assistant director for several years, Vasishta made his directorial debut with Bimbisara. The film was a successful debut for Vasishta, and he is now one of the most promising young directors in Telugu cinema.
