Story:

P. S. Mithran is the director of the upcoming Indian Tamil-language spy action thriller Sardar 2 (also known as Chief 2), which is being produced by IVY Entertainment and Prince Pictures. Karthi and Rajisha Vijayan reprise their roles in this follow-up to Sardar (2022), which also features S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Sajol Ahamed.

The official title of the movie, Sardar 2, was revealed in October 2022. In Chennai, principal photography started in July 2024 and ended in early March 2025. George C. Williams handled the film’s cinematography, Vijay Velukutty edited it, and Sam C. S. composed the soundtrack.

Following Sardar’s popularity in late 2022, P. S. Mithran revealed the film’s sequel at a media gathering in Chennai. Karthi’s return to the roles of Vijay Prakash and Agent Sardar Chandrabose was officially confirmed with a promotional trailer. Until December 2023, there were rumors that the production may start.

It was announced in May of the following year that production would start in July and that 40 percent of the scenes would be filmed in other countries, such as Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. On July 12, the actors and crew attended a muhurat puja at a Chennai movie city. Prince Pictures, owned by S. Lakshman Kumar, provided funding for the project and the original. One co-producer was Siddharth Srinivas. The same day, the firm released stills from the puja, showcasing the cast and crew of the movie.
