PLOT
An ex-Havaldar named Daniel “Danny” Shekhar and his driver cross the state border between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at night. When they are stopped by the authorities at the checkpoint for carrying more alcohol than was allowed, Danny, who is inebriated and angry that his sleep is being interrupted, beats them up. Danny is struck by SI Bheemla Nayak when he arrives to explain his offence. Danny declines, claiming that Telangana was where he was headed, but Nayak still detains him because Danny had already crossed the boundary. Danny gets humiliated by a constable by having his loincloth taken off, which makes him even angrier. When the police check Danny’s phone contacts after filing a FIR, they discover with shock that he is the son of a powerful politician and has connections to other powerful figures in politics. Nayak tells CI Kodanda Ram about it, and he requests that he handle Danny with respect. Danny won’t budge no matter how hard Nayak tries to make things right. They sat together as Nayak issues a gun threat to the man. Danny then demands a drink from Nayak. With no other choice, Nayak pours himself from a bottle of the confiscated alcohol, which Danny discreetly records on his phone. The next day, Danny is brought before the judge, who sentences him to a 14-day jail term.
Danny is released on bail with the condition that he report to the police station every two weeks. Danny gives the press access to the recorded video as an act of retaliation. Nayak is taken into custody so that his conduct can be looked into. Nayak is contested by Danny in front of the police station. The villagers, who had been Nayak’s ardent supporters, attempt to attack Danny, but Nayak dissuades them by claiming that their conflict is personal. Nagaraju, the proprietor of a nearby toddy shop and a rival of Nayak’s, teams up with Danny.A powerful politician strikes a deal with them in which Danny would postpone submitting the evidence to SP and would not be required to appear in court for two weeks. Danny provides the proof nonetheless at his father Jeevan Kumar’s request, and Nayak is suspended. The following day, Nayak uses explosives to blow up Nagaraju’s pub. aboard an effort to establish his authority, Danny claims that he caused Nayak to lose his job when they first meet while travelling aboard a bus. Nayak responds that he would come back to win the war even if the battle was lost.
In retribution, the police confiscate Danny’s car and detain the driver. In the meantime, Jeevan meets with the SP and presents the proof that Suguna, the wife of Nayak, engaged in smuggling by procuring unlawfully from tribal peoples forest products, leading to the issuance of an arrest order for her. Nayak and Suguna relocate to a remote area of the forest with their infant after realising this. Suguna’s phone is taken by Jeevan’s men, who monitor their whereabouts and threaten Nayak with death. Nayak, incensed, assaults Jeevan’s men inside a lodge. Danny begs Nayak to stop beating them because he is oblivious of his father’s behaviour. However, Nayak smashes up Danny’s vehicle, and they fight. The police arrive and apprehend them. Kodanda Ram informs Danny that Nayak is revered by the locals as an incarnation of the village deity Kokkira Devara, thus a fight with him is not advised. Danny discovers that 15 years ago, Nayak killed a cruel contractor who preyed on tribal females in order to save them, and was regarded by the villagers as their saviour.
Danny asks Jeevan if they should make a deal, but he refuses. The SP goes to their house on Jeevan’s request and arrests Suguna, infuriating Nayak. He goes to Jeevan’s house and forces him to call Danny at gunpoint. Danny, who has Nayak’s baby in custody, invites him to a final duel at Erra Thanda, a location outside the police authority of both states. They fight fiercely, and just as Nayak is ready to utilise his famous technique of removing an arm, he is stopped.Danny’s wife arrives and begs for forgiveness. Nayak recognises her as one of the indigenous girls he rescued many years ago and lets them go. They readily withdraw their cases against one another. Danny’s house is visited by Nayak, who has been transferred to Telangana. They shake hands and reintroduce themselves.
