In the Malayalam cinema business, Sachy was a screenwriter, director, and producer from India. Initially, he and Sethu wrote movies together under the name Sachi-Sethu. Some of their credits as a writing team are Chocolate (2007), Robinhood (2009), Makeup Man (2011), and Seniors (2012). With the 2012 movie Run Baby Run, he made his independent screenwriting debut, and with the 2015 feature Anarkali, he made his directorial debut. Under the banner of Thakkali Films, he co-produced the 2012 movie Chettayees. Following it were the films Driving Licence (2019), Sherlock Toms (2017), and Ramaleela (2017). His most recent movie was 2020’s Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
He began his career in the Malayalam film industry by working with the author Sethunath. After the success of their first film, Chocolate, they worked together on several more. Joshiy helmed their subsequent collaboration, Robin Hood, and they again teamed together for Shafi’s 2011 comedy Makeup Man. With the Vysakh-directed comedy-mystery Seniors, they found popularity once more. However, after Doubles (2011) underperformed at the box office, the couple broke up.After splitting up with Sethu in 2011, Sachy continued to work as a freelance writer. He made his screenwriting debut with Joshiy’s suspense thriller Run Baby Run (2012), which went on to become one of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies of that year. He later collaborated with filmmaker Shajoon Kariyal on the unsuccessful box office hit Chettayees (2012) starring Biju Menon, Suresh Krishna, Miya, and Lal. After Makeup Man, Sachy teamed up with Shafi for the likewise unsuccessful comedy-thriller Sherlock Toms starring Biju Menon. Later, Sachy worked on Ramaleela with newbie director Arun Gopy, which starred Dileep and was a huge box office hit. In 2019, Sachy and Lal Jr. worked together to create the smash single Driving License.
The comedy film Chettayees was produced in 2012 by Thakkali Films, which Sachy co-founded with his pals Biju Menon, Shajoon Karyal, P. Sukumar, and Suresh Krishna.[Reference needed] He made his directing debut in 2015 with the love story Anarkali. Prithviraj, Biju Menon, and Mia George acted in it. The movie was a box office triumph and earned favorable reviews from reviewers. Following it in 2020 was the suspenseful action film Ayyappanum Koshiyum, for which Sachy got a posthumous National Film Award for Best Direction. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the last Malayalam movie to be a financial success and a significant box office hit. It also sparked the Telugu adaptation Bheemla Nayak, with Rana Daggubati playing Prithviraj and Pawan Kalyan playing Menon. Another version in the works is reportedly going to be in Hindi and would star John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. At the age of 47, he passed away at Jubilee Mission Hospital in Thrissur on June 18, 2020.
