Ravindra Vijay

Biography:

Ravindra Vijay relocated to Chennai in the middle of the 2010s and joined the Perch theatrical company. He performed in numerous of the collective’s plays, including Under the Mangosteen Tree, which was based on the short stories of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. Additionally, he had appearances in the children’s plays Jujubee and How to Skin a Giraffe. He is a member of the trio that presents Kira Kozhambu, a drama based on the folktales of author Ki Rajanarayanan. In Coimbatore, Vijay performed in the drama alongside Anandsami and Kalieaswari Srinivasan. They performed the same play again in Chennai with Maya S. Krishnan reprising Srinivasan’s role.The bench and the three actors were the only things in the play. Anandsami reprised his part from the original play in this adaptation of Nattuppura Kadhai Kalanjiyam, a collection of short stories by Ki. Rajanarayanan. According to a critic, “Actors Anand Sami, Maya S. Krishnan, and Ravindra Vijay were in their elements with their seamless blend of art and entertainment”.

Following that, he was approached to play Nassar’s character’s brother in Nishanth Ravindaran’s black comedy film Odu Raja Odu (2018). He thereafter proceeded to work in films, most notably in Kamal Haasan’s Kadaram Kondan (2019) and Dharala Prabhu (2020). Ravindra played Jognath, the impetus for the film’s revenge-based narrative, in the Telugu film Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya (2020). Because of his involvement in the film’s fame, fans created memes based on him.
Ravindra appeared as a Chennai-based intelligence officer in Amazon Prime’s The Family Man in 2021.
