Chintapalli Venkata Ramana is a writer in the Telugu film industry, and he is known by his screen name, Chintapalli Ramana. He was born in Palakol, situated in the Godavari Region of India. His father, Chintapalli Suryanarayana Reddy, was a playwright and director in the world of stage plays.
Chintapalli Ramana has contributed as a dialogue writer to nearly forty movies, with a remarkable thirty of them becoming super hits. Before making his mark in Tollywood, he had already written and directed numerous stage plays. During the early stages of his career in the film industry, he worked as an assistant director under the name Chintapalli Ramanaa Reddy for several movies.
His journey as a dialogue writer commenced with the film “Chinnabbulu,” followed by his work on “Suswagatham.” His third film, “Tholi Prema,” became a groundbreaking success in the Telugu film industry.
“Suryavamsam,” a 1998 Telugu movie directed by Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao and produced by R. B. Choudary under Super Good Pictures, featured Venkatesh, Sanghavi, Meena, and Radhika in pivotal roles, with music composed by S. A. Rajkumar. This film was a remake of the Kollywood film “Suryavamsam” (1997) and was later remade in Bollywood as “Sooryavansham,” starring Amitabh Bachchan and Soundarya.
It also had a Kannada adaptation titled “Surya Vamsha” (2000) with Vishnuvardhan and Isha Koppikar in key roles, achieving chartbuster success at the box office. In 2013, “Okkadine,” a Telugu film directed by Srinivas Raga and produced by C.V Reddy under Gulabi Films, was released. The film starred Nara Rohit and Nithya Menon in lead roles and was dubbed into Hindi as “Aur Ek Dushman” and into Malayalam as “Kanalattam”.
The story revolves around Shailaja, the daughter of a well-known philanthropist named Shivaji Rao. Despite her initial disappointment over her father’s overseas trip, she plans to go on a journey with her online friend Sujatha. Along the way, they encounter a corrupt police constable harassing a pregnant woman to reveal her spouse’s whereabouts. Shailaja intervenes and stands up against the officer, condemning individuals like him.
