Story:

Arundhati is a 2009 Indian Telugu Tamil horror fantasy film directed by Kodi Ramakrishna Produced by Shyam Prasad Reddy under the Mallemala Entertainments banner. Alongside Sonu Sood, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Sayaji Shinde, Manorama, and Anushka Shetty in the lead role, the movie features film. K. K. Senthil Kumar shot the cinematography, Marthand K. Venkatesh edited the film, and Koti composed the music.

When the movie was released on January 16, 2009, it became one of the highest-grossing Telugu movies ever made and a huge commercial success. Anushka became a huge movie star in Telugu cinema overnight thanks to the movie’s success. Ten Nandi Awards and two Filmfare Awards South were among the many honors the movie won. In 2014, the movie underwent a Bengali remake under the same name.

Rahul is engaged to Arundhati, a woman who is thought to be the reincarnation of her great-grandmother Jejamma. One of her relatives, Ramana, and his wife Susheela, are taken to an abandoned mansion by a mysterious entity while traveling to Gadwal. They find themselves inside a tomb, where they are imprisoned by the entity’s illusion. Following an accident caused by the entity to her grandfather Bhupathi Raja jr., Arundhati’s family arrives in Gadwal. Arundhati turns to a Fakir named Anwar for assistance, but she disobeys his warnings about the danger.

Arundhati turns to Anwar, a Fakir, for assistance. He alerts her to the danger, but she chooses to disregard him. Later, after the entity has drawn Arundhati to the deserted mansion, a man stops her. She walks into the mansion, ignoring him. She comes upon the tomb, but Anwar pulls her out and shows her a ghost to warn her.

Arundhati convinces Chandramma, the housemaid, to tell her the tale of Jejamma after learning later that the man she encountered outside the mansion is the late elder brother of her grandfather. In a flashback, Bhargavi and Arundhati Sr. Pasupathi, a wicked man who is also Bhargavi’s husband, abuse her and commit adultery and rape. Raja Chinna Venkata Rangarayudu rules the mansion.

Being Pasupathi’s wife, Bhargavi renders her father powerless. Bhargavi commits suicide when she realizes she is causing her father problems. When Bhargavi dies, Pasupathi makes fun of her demise while intoxicated. After being severely beaten by the Gadwal community, Pasupathi is ejected from the palace by an enraged Jejamma. But after a span of seven years, he reappears as an aghora, seeking retribution by breaking into the mansion and murdering nobody. He is left alive in the mansion after Jejamma entombs him there. After 48 days, Arundhati is threatened by Pasupathi’s spirit, according to Chandramma.

To free his spirit from the tomb, Pasupathi tricks Ramana, frightening Arundhati in the process. Arundhati discovers she is Jejamma’s reincarnation when Anwar and Chandramma step in. Though trapped in the tomb, Pasupathi’s spirit wreaked havoc in Gadwal. When Jejamma goes to see Aghoras, she offers herself as a sacrifice so that her bones can be used to make a weapon.

While attempting to recover the weapon, Arundhati and Anwar are threatened by Pasupathi, who also causes an accident. When Arundhati goes back to save Rahul, she runs into Pasupathi. After Chandramma’s death, Arundhati approaches Pasupathi. Anwar hands her the weapon, but Pasupathi kills him before he can explain its capabilities. Growing stronger, Arundhati stabs herself with the weapon and murders Pasupathi. Arundhati is thought to be dead and the manor is destroyed.

But Arundhati makes it through, and a young child from her family recognizes her. They acknowledge Jejamma’s return.
