Plot
A tunnel used to transport drugs is raided by a group of Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents. One agent is killed as the team, led by Agents Seale and Washburn, is subjected to intense fire. Cody, Seale’s son, is friends with a gang of high school kids who are the offspring of DEA agents. Jesse, the deceased agent’s child, is among them. Jesse’s family is forced to relocate due to their challenging financial situation following the death. Cody is disappointed that Jesse’s family is not receiving better financial assistance from the DEA.
Benito Cabrera, a gang lord in Mexico, is upset over the tunnel raid. He gives the order to kill one of his soldiers because he believes there is a rat. Natalia, Cabrera’s sister, travels to El Paso to oversee operations. Because they want the money for Jesse, Cody and his friends decide to start robbing trap houses. They pull off the heist using their parents’ knowledge and tools, such as night vision goggles, but they only take less than $500. They make the decision to repeat the crime, robbing a van, stealing a lot more cash, and infuriating Cabrera even more. Due to a delayed onset concussion, Deni winds up in the hospital. Only Kyle agrees to carry on with Cody’s plan to rob another truck because his friends are reluctant. Seale recognizes his kid despite their successful theft of the drug-filled vehicle.
Teresa, Cody’s girlfriend, arrives at the house with her mother, who turns out to be Natalie. Teresa discovers that the truck was stolen by Cody. Deni is abducted from the hospital by Natalie. To guarantee her return, Cody needs to return the medicines. After tracking Cody’s phone, Seales kills Benito and Natalie along with other DEA agents. Seales gives the impression that Cody and Deni were abducted.
