Biography:
Actor Álvaro Luis “Tony” Bernat Dalton was born in Mexico and the United States on February 13, 1975. He has performed in stage plays, television series, and Mexican movies for a large portion of his career. In the US, he is well recognized for his role as Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul (2018–2022). In the Marvel Cinematic Universe television series Hawkeye (2021) and Daredevil: Born Again (2025–2026), he also played Jack Duquesne/Swordsman. The Mexican telenovela Rebelde (2004–2006) featured Dalton on his first significant acting role. Matando Cabos (2004), which he co-wrote, was his debut motion picture part. Later, he acted in and authored Sultanes del Sur (2007). Violanchelo (2008) and The Perfect Dictatorship (2014) are two of his other cinematic credits.
Additionally, he had a supporting part in the 2008 HBO Latin American series Capadocia. He starred in the 2017 HBO series Sr. Ávila, which took home the International Emmy for Best Non-English Language Series.
Dalton played Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul (2018–2022), making his debut in the season 4 episode “Coushatta”. His portrayal won him nominations for two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Saturn Awards, and some critics considered Lalo to be among the best villains on television. After his performance in Better Call Saul impressed producer Trinh Tran, he was cast as Jack Duquesne in the miniseries Hawkeye (2021).
