Story:

“Sivakasi” is a 2005 Tamil masala film directed and written by Perarasu, featuring Vijay, Asin, and Prakash Raj in prominent roles. The movie, which boasts music composed by Srikanth Deva and background score by his father Deva, hit theaters on November 1, 2005, coinciding with the festival of Diwali. It received favorable reviews from critics and enjoyed a successful 150-day run in cinemas.

The film’s plot revolves around Sivakasi, a skilled welder, who falls in love with Hema. While Hema’s father approves of their marriage, her brothers express concern about Sivakasi’s income. Sivakasi secretly takes it upon himself to improve the living conditions of his impoverished family members, all the while maintaining a fake identity. He confronts Udhayappan and exposes his corrupt practices, ultimately leading to a series of political and personal conflicts. Through a series of clever moves, Sivakasi orchestrates a change in the political landscape, and the film culminates in a dramatic and satisfying resolution that includes forgiveness and redemption.
