TheatreJandhyala directed and K. Murari of Yuva Chitra Arts produced the 1986 Telugu drama film Seetharama Kalyanam. It features Rajani and Nandamuri Balakrishna, with music by K. V. Mahadevan.
Plot
The movie tells the story of the conflict between the villages of Raghavapuram and Ramapuram over the sculptures of Lord Rama and Seeta. Rangaiah, the beginning of Raghavapuram, and Govindaiah, the apex of Ramapuram, get married, and the couple has a happy life together with their daughter Janaki.
Lakshmi, the daughter of Govindaiah’s younger brother Subbaramaiah, and Raja, the younger brother of Rangaiah, develop a sweet crush on one other. When they were playing between the boundaries of two villages, they once discovered idols of Lord Rama and Seeta.
As a result, there is violence between the two, with Rangaiah killing Subbaramaiah after his father dies at his hands. Rangaiah is enraged. Family strife ensues as a result, and tiny Raja and Hari son of Subbaramaiah vow war on one another. Following the statutes, Govindaiah moves to the city with Hari and Lakshmi, and Rangaiah is sentenced to life in prison.
Years pass, Rangaiah is found not guilty, and the trial is continued. Raja and Lakshmi’s childhood love endures until fate brings them to the same college. Govindaiah & Hari divide and obstruct them knowing this. Making use of this, Govindaiah’s flirtatious brother-in-law Narayana schemes to weave Lakshmi together with his son Varma.
Govindaiah becomes aware of the situation when Hari & Naryana unintentionally kill Rangaiah at that point. He therefore chooses to unite Raja and Lakshmi.
But when Raja loses his temper and turns into a new person, Hari violently removes Lakshmi. The film finally closes on a joyful note with Raja and Lakshmi’s marriage and the entire village participating in the festival ceremony of the gods.
