Story:

Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, a 2022 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film, unfolds its narrative under the creative direction of Vignesh Shivan. Featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha in pivotal roles, the movie explores the intertwined lives of its characters against the backdrop of love’s complexities. Rambo grows up carrying the burden of perceived bad luck and eventually leaves his village after a series of tragic events involving his family. In the present, Rambo takes on two jobs, working as a cab driver during the day and a bouncer at a pub at night. His life intersects with Khatija and Kanmani, two women with distinct backgrounds and aspirations. A friendship develops with Khatija after Rambo intervenes in a violent incident involving her ex-boyfriend, while with Kanmani, a mutual attraction blossoms as Rambo becomes her cab driver.

The unexpected twist occurs when both women propose to Rambo on the same day, leading to a unique love triangle. Facing the dilemma of choosing between Kanmani and Khatija, Rambo seeks guidance from Prabhu, who suggests a fabricated story about a memory disorder. However, the staged scenario unravels, revealing Rambo’s love for both women.

The trio decides to live together, navigating through initial animosities between Kanmani and Khatija. As the story progresses, Rambo’s mother falls seriously ill, prompting a visit to the village. Miraculously, the villagers now view Rambo as a bringer of good luck, leading to a plea for both women to marry him and break the family curse. In a sacrificial act, Kanmani and Khatija agree to marry Rambo, aiming to dispel the perceived curse.

Despite the heartbreak, they forge ahead with the wedding, and a year later, the three maintain a unique relationship. Rambo, in a surprising twist, hints at a new virtual romance with Katrina Kaif, leaving an intriguing conclusion to the film. The movie’s musical journey, guided by Anirudh Ravichander, adds emotional depth to the narrative. The soundtrack features seven songs, with “Rendu Kaadhal” released on Valentine’s Day, setting the tone for the film’s exploration of double love failure and heartbreak.
