Indian actress Shanthakumari Nambiar is better known by her stage name Seema. She has appeared in 260 Malayalam films, 25 Tamil films, 7 Telugu films, 6 Kannada films, and 1 Hindi film. She was given the screen name Seema by actor Vijayanz.
At the age of 18, Seema began her career as a dancer in Tamil cinema. Nizhale Nee Sakshi, directed by Lisa Baby, was her acting debut; nevertheless, this project was abandoned. Vidhubala served as the heroine in its eventual completion. During the making of Nizhale Nee Sakshi, seasoned actor Vijayan changed her name to Seema.
Avalude Ravukal (Her Nights), directed by I. V. Sasi, was Seema’s first Malayalam film, and it was released when she was 26 years old. After a brief hiatus during the 1990s, Seema reactivated in 1998 with Olympic Anthony Adam. In 1984 and 1985, Seema won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress. Didi Damodaran released Vishudha Shanthi, a biography of her life, in 2011. At Chennai’s 59th Idea Filmfare festival, she won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
She wed I. V. Sasi, a director, on August 28, 1980. Anu, a male, and Ani, a daughter, are the couple’s two children.
