Dhilip Subbarayan is an accomplished Indian stunt choreographer renowned for his contributions to Tamil cinema. The son of the veteran stunt choreographer Super Subbarayan, Dhilip has not only followed in his father’s footsteps but has also ventured into film production and acting. His filmography includes noteworthy works such as “Aaranya Kaandam” (2011), where he gained recognition for his stunt choreography.
Dhilip’s journey began with him assisting director duo Pushkar–Gayathri in the film “Oram Po.” His involvement extended to being both an associate director and stunt master for “Aaranya Kaandam,” even though “Thamizh Padam” was his debut film to be released. His expertise has been sought after in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, contributing to notable productions like “Arima Nambi” (2014), “Puli” (2015), “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” (2015), and “Theri” (2016).
In addition to his work behind the scenes, Dhilip Subbarayan ventured into film production with “Anjala,” a project initiated in late 2013, but released in February 2016 due to delays.
In a surprising move, Dhilip transitioned into acting, debuting as the lead actor in “Sangu Chakkaram” (2016). The film, characterized as a “spoof thriller,” marked his acting debut and featured him alongside Master Nishesh of “Pasanga 2.” Helmed by debutant director Maareesan and accompanied by Vishal Chandrasekhar’s music, the film showcased Dhilip’s versatility beyond his role as a stunt choreographer.
