Vijay Kartik Kannan

Biography:

Vijay Kartik Kannan is an Indian cinematographer primarily active in the Tamil film industry.

On 16th March 2022, Vijay tied the knot with fellow cinematographer Yamini Yagnamurthy after having been in a relationship for several years.

Vijay Kartik began his career in cinematography with the Tamil horror film “Darling 2” in 2016. Later, in 2018, he received an offer from Sivakarthikeyan to work as the cinematographer for his debut production “Kanaa” (2018). However, he had to decline the offer due to concerns about meeting the specified time requirements. Nonetheless, he later collaborated as the cinematographer for Sivakarthikeyan’s “Doctor” (2021), directed by Nelson.

Throughout his career, Vijay Kartik has worked on various projects, including the film “Aadai” (2019), directed by his long-term friend Rathna Kumar, with whom he had a friendship of over 13 years. Additionally, in the same year, he was involved as the cinematographer for Vijay Sethupathi’s “Sindhubaadh” (2019).

He is recognized for his outstanding work in films like “Sillu Karupatti” (2019), “Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal” (2022), and “Ravansura” (2023), and is currently contributing to the upcoming movie “Jailer” (2023).
