Story:

Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language comedy film directed by Vipin Das and written by Deepu Pradeep. The movie was co-produced by Prithviraj Productions and E4 Entertainment, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Basil Joseph, Nikhila Vimal, and Anaswara Rajan in lead roles.

Released on 16 May 2024, the film garnered positive reviews from critics and became a sleeper hit at the box office. It ranks as the 9th highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time and the 6th highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024.

Plot

Vinu Ramachandran, a young executive based in Dubai, is engaged to Anjali and develops a close bond with her brother, Anandan, who works as a plant manager in Jamshedpur. Despite being five years since his breakup with his ex-girlfriend, Parvathy, Vinu struggles to move on. Anandan helps Vinu deal with his feelings of betrayal, but he himself is grappling with personal issues, as he is temporarily estranged from his wife, also named Parvathy, due to an anonymous letter accusing her of infidelity. Seeing Anandan as the brother he never had, Vinu decides to help him reconcile with his wife.

The situation takes a shocking turn when Vinu and Anandan meet in person and discover that the Parvathy in both their lives is the same person. This revelation strains their relationship. Initially, Vinu tries to stop the wedding with the help of his friends and his colleague Kunjunni. However, Kunjunni backs out, as he is also a friend of Anandan and doesn’t want to interfere. After speaking with Anjali, Vinu decides to prioritize her happiness and supports the wedding. Meanwhile, Anandan discovers that Vinu’s ex-girlfriend is his wife and wrongly assumes that Vinu sent the anonymous letter. Determined to stop the wedding, he sets out to confront Vinu.

Chaos ensues as multiple parties with their own motives—Kunjunni, Vinu’s estranged friend Saravanan, and a stalker named George—attempt to disrupt the wedding. Anandan’s uncles, who hold a grudge against his father Sudevan, add to the turmoil by plotting to create conflict in the family.

On the wedding day, Anandan gains clarity after speaking with Parvathy, her father, and his own parents. He learns that his uncles were behind the anonymous letter to sow discord. Realizing his mistake, Anandan confronts and defeats those causing trouble, including Saravanan, George, Kunjunni, and his uncles. With Sudevan’s support, he ensures the wedding proceeds smoothly.

In the end, Vinu marries Anjali, and peace is restored between all parties. The story concludes on a happy note, with both Vinu and Anjali, as well as Anandan and Parvathy, finding happiness together.
