Akhil Kavaliyoor

Biography:

Akhil Kalavoor, a native of Kavalayoor in Attingal, was born in 1985 to Rajendran Nair and Chandrika. He completed his primary education at Kavalayoor School and Attingal Boys Higher Secondary School before earning his degree from Attingal Government College. His artistic journey began with mimicry, where he gained extensive experience by performing with various troupes in Thiruvananthapuram for nearly 18 years. Akhil was associated with renowned groups such as Phalitha, Skylark, Narmakala, Shoguns, and Magneto.

Akhil made his debut in Malayalam cinema with the film Lal Bahadur Shastri and subsequently appeared in small roles in Canadian Diary, Escape, and the forthcoming movie Theren. He is set to portray Kunju Kunju, a significant character in the film Thekkana Thallu Kesa, written by acclaimed storyteller G. Indugopen. The film, shot primarily in Varkala and Attingal, sought local talent, leading to Akhil securing the role. He is also involved in other upcoming film projects.

In addition to his film career, Akhil is a prominent figure on television. He is the writer and performer for the comedy program Star Magic on Flowers TV and has been actively contributing to the channel for six years, both on-screen and behind the scenes. Known for his comedic talent, he has scripted comedy shows for most major TV channels in Kerala and won the Comedy Express competition on Asianet. Akhil has also ventured into digital media, performing in the popular web series Premier Patni, which has gained a strong following on social media.

Akhil’s family includes his mother, his wife Arya, and their two daughters, Avantika and Avanika.
