Plot
Prakash, a cheerful and naughty student, celebrates his graduation with his pals. He gets into a small car accident during the festivities. Prakash has only a few months to live due to chronic myeloid leukemia, according to normal medical testing conducted after the accident. Prakash chooses to spend his remaining days in solitude at his family’s holiday house in Ooty since he is overwhelmed by his mother’s ongoing sadness. Prakash meets Geethanjali, a vibrant young woman in Ooty who is well-known for pulling practical jokes. Using complex tactics to frighten others is one of her favorite activities. In one such case, she persuades a young man to meet her after dusk outside a church so they might allegedly elope. But when Prakash turns the tables on her by dressing as a vampire and performing a number of aerial wire tricks, frightening her instead, her plan fails.
Geethanjali, frustrated that she was unable to scare Prakash, comes up with another plan. She tells her grandmother that Prakash had asked her to elope. Despite Prakash’s efforts to clarify the situation, Geethanjali’s grandma openly confronts and humiliates him out of wrath. Prakash drives Geethanjali to a secluded mountainside and leaves her there as retaliation for the unfounded accusation. Geethanjali’s youngest sister tells Prakash later that evening that the family is concerned since Geethanjali has not returned home. After realizing how terrible his actions were, Prakash looks for Geethanjali and discovers her shivering in the cold. When he returns her to her family, Geethanjali’s grandmother chastises him and informs him that Geethanjali is terminally ill. It is discovered that Geethanjali has tetralogy of Fallot, and her father works as a cardiologist. Prakash is taken aback by this discovery and fascinated by Geethanjali’s ability to maintain such joy and vitality in spite of her illness.
Geethanjali tells Prakash that she doesn’t fear death because she thinks everyone will pass away at some point. Instead of worrying about the future, she chooses to live in the present and enjoy life. Inspired by her perspective, Prakash chooses to make the most of his last days and starts to accept his own mortality. Over time, Prakash develops romantic feelings for Geethanjali and starts pursuing her. At first, Geethanjali brushes off his advances, believing them to be a joke. But soon, she feels the same way about him. Their bond grows stronger until Prakash’s mother pays him a visit and unintentionally tells Geethanjali—who had been ignorant of his condition—that he has a fatal illness. Geethanjali is devastated and begs Prakash to leave her since she can’t bear the idea of losing him. Geethanjali maintains that his life is more significant to her than her own, despite Prakash’s attempts to reassure her that everyone will eventually die. She begs him to go because she can’t bear to see him die.
Geethanjali’s condition deteriorates that evening, and she is taken to the hospital. When Prakash tries to see her, her father, a physician, respects Geethanjali’s wishes and asks him to leave. Prakash makes the decision to leave town after being devastated. Geethanjali has a crucial cardiac procedure in the interim. She wakes up following the procedure and begs to see Prakash right away. When her family learns that Prakash is going to depart, they dash to the train station. Prakash is getting ready to leave the station when he notices Geethanjali coming. He rushes back to her, overcome with emotion, and they are reunited. In spite of their terrible circumstances, Prakash and Geethanjali find comfort and affection in each other’s company, and the movie ends with them kissing.
