Story:

“Enakkul Oruvan” is a Tamil movie from 2015, and it’s a psychological drama directed by Prasad Ramar and produced by C. V. Kumar. This film is a remake of the Kannada movie “Lucia” from 2013, directed by Pawan Kumar. The main actors are Siddharth and Deepa Sannidhi, and the music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Siddharth produced the film, and it’s his 25th movie. The movie was released on March 6, 2015, and the Telugu version is titled “Naalo Okkadu.”

The story begins with the main character in a coma, hooked up to life support. Right from the start, the film tells two stories about the same person—one in color and the other in black and white.

A detective from the Mumbai crime branch starts investigating the incident that put the protagonist, Siddharth, in his current state. The detective finds some notes and a mysterious pill among Siddharth’s belongings. Meanwhile, the police capture two suspects and interrogate them for information.

The narrative follows Vicky, who works as an Usher in a movie theatre owned by Durai. Vicky, suffering from insomnia, gets involved with a drug dealer offering Lucia pills as a solution to his sleep troubles. These pills supposedly allow a person to dream the life they want but come with a side effect—when you stop taking them, the dreams turn into nightmares.

Using Lucia pills, Vicky sees himself as a successful actor named Vignesh in a black-and-white world. In reality, Durai, the theatre owner, had directed a film in his youth, and now he’s facing threats from a thug who wants Durai to sign off his theatre to cover his debt. In Vignesh’s dream life, he and Durai receive death threats, and events from the dream start happening in real life. Vicky falls in love with Divya, who is a model in the dream and a waitress in reality.

In Vignesh’s dream, he and Divya face challenges, and in reality, Vicky struggles to win Divya’s heart due to his low salary. Despite Divya’s attempts to improve Vicky’s life, it leads to tragedy with Durai’s death. Frustrated, Vicky chooses to leave Divya but later reconciles with her, and they decide to get married.
In Vignesh’s dream, he faces more challenges, and Divya tries to get back with him. However, Vignesh isolates himself, unsure if the present moment is a dream or reality. In a surprising twist, Vignesh realizes he’s happy, and he decides not to confuse his dreams with real life. He asks Divya to close her eyes, and he jumps off the roof.

In the present, the detective, with the help of suspects, investigates the drug dealer and learns more about Lucia’s pills. Divya attempts to take Vignesh off life support, and during her interrogation, the detective watches an interview with Vignesh. In the interview, Vignesh reveals he is color blind and dreams of being a normal person.

The detective believes Vignesh chose to live in his dream and attempted suicide. In the hospital, Vignesh wakes up from his coma, revealing that Vicky was his illusion, and Divya is by his side. The movie ends with Vicky happily married to Divya in his dream, and Vignesh recovering in reality.

In simple terms, the movie explores the blurred lines between dreams and reality, with the main character living two parallel lives—one in a dream and one in the real world. The twist at the end reveals the true nature of his existence.
