Indian actress Anjali Rao has acted in television serials, commercial films, short films, and films in the languages of Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. She began her career as a supporting actor and has since landed main parts in movies like Vanmam (2014) and Baby (2015).
India’s Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, is the birthplace of Anjali Rao. Her father was an army officer, so when she was younger, she studied at army schools and traveled throughout northern India. She completed her education at Kendriya Vidyala Meenambakkam and then pursued a BBA and MBA at Vels University in Chennai after her father was later transferred there. Anjali Rao got her start in the film industry while still in college by getting involved in modeling and doing commercial work.
In her early acting career, Anjali Rao primarily starred in supporting parts. She was seen as Vijay Sethupathi’s partner in the village drama Vanmam (2014), with Nithya Menen in Malini 22 Palayamkottai (2014), and as a ghost in the horror movie Baby (2015). Later, she collaborated with Gautham Vasudev Menon in Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016), where she played the sister of Silambarasan.
Anjali was chosen from an ensemble cast to appear on Priyadarshan’s social drama Sometimes (2017) after making an impression on producer A. L. Vijay while they were costarring in commercials. She also starred in Thiya and Peechankai’s low-budget experimental flicks Kanna Pinna.
