Siddhant Chaturvedi is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi films. He made his debut in 2016 with the web sitcom “Life Sahi Hai,” which centers on four male roommates. From 2017 to 2019, he played a teenage cricketer in the Amazon Prime Video series “Inside Edge.”
At a success party for “Inside Edge,” filmmaker Zoya Akhtar noticed Chaturvedi and invited him to audition for her film “Gully Boy” (2019). This marked his film debut and breakthrough role, where he portrayed MC Sher, a street rapper who inspires the main character played by Ranveer Singh. Chaturvedi’s performance earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination for Best Male Debut.
Chaturvedi later appeared in the Yash Raj Films’ sequel “Bunty Aur Babli 2” (2021), alongside Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Sharvari Wagh. He also starred in Shakun Batra’s drama “Gehraiyaan” (2022) with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday, released on Amazon Prime Video. He then featured in the comedy horror film “Phone Bhoot” with Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter.
Upcoming projects for Chaturvedi include the action film “Yudhra” and a co-starring role with Triptii Dimri in “Dhadak 2,” a remake of the Tamil film “Pariyerum Perumal.”
Born on April 29, 1993, in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, Chaturvedi moved to Mumbai at the age of five. His father is a chartered accountant and his mother is a homemaker. He studied at Mithibai College in Mumbai and initially aimed to become a chartered accountant while pursuing his passion for acting on stage. Disenchanted during his CA articleship, he took a break and won The Times of India’s Fresh Face Contest in 2013.
