Theatre“Don Seenu,” a 2010 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film, directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by R. R. Venkat, showcases the lead roles played by Ravi Teja and Shriya Saran. The film’s popularity led to its remake in Bengali as “Badsha – The Don.” Furthermore, it was twice dubbed in Hindi, first as “Sabse Bada Don” in 2011 and later in 2016, and also in Hindustani as “Don” in 2021.
The narrative revolves around Seenu, also known as Srinivasa Rao, who harbors dreams of becoming a gangster and has nurtured a penchant for being referred to as “Don Seenu” since childhood, inspired by the iconic Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Don.”Seenu’s enterprising nature propels him into the upper echelons of the city’s underworld, where he strategically plays off the rivalry between the top two gangsters, Madhavpur Machiraju and Narsingh.
Eager to ascend the ranks, Seenu aligns himself with Machiraju.As part of his initiation, Seenu is assigned a task to travel to Germany and win the heart of Narsingh’s sister, whose marriage is arranged with the son of Dubai-based crime boss Naveen Duggal. In Germany, Seenu unwittingly wins the heart of the wrong girl, who happens to be Machiraju’s sister.
Discovering the mistake, Seenu manages to impress the real target, Deepthi, and returns to India. When Deepthi and Priya confront Seenu about the confusion, he unveils the backstory of the animosity between Narsingh and Machiraju, revealing that Lakshmi, Machiraju’s sister, is Narsingh’s wife separated due to Machiraju’s actions.
To prove Lakshmi’s innocence, Seenu orchestrates a meeting at the docks, where Machiraju and Narsingh reconcile. Apologizing to Lakshmi, Narsingh reunites with her and their child. A confrontation unfolds, with Seenu defeating Duggal, addressing Bobby, and joyfully departing with his reunited family.
