plot:
Beginning the narrative is an underworld don Billa working out of Malaysia while evading Interpol’s global criminal database. After leaving behind a life in India, Krishnamoorthy, an ACP who works for Interpol, has been searching for Billa for the past few years. Billa suffers terrible injuries during a police chase and passes away in front of the ACP. Then, the ACP organizes a covert funeral for Billa. Since no one is aware of Billa’s passing, Interpol Officer Dharmendra is tasked with helping the ACP track down the elusive Billa.
The ACP searches down a lookalike named Katikaranga (Ranga), a small-time robber residing in Visakhapatnam, while keeping Billa’s death a secret even from his fellow police. He invites Ranga to pose as Billa and infiltrate Billa’s group. In exchange, he will see to it that Lakshmi and Sreenu, the kids Ranga adopted, receive a quality education in Hyderabad.
Ranga receives training from the ACP and is returned to Billa’s gang as a man who has forgotten everything. Ranga gradually becomes more knowledgeable about Billa’s gang and even calls Devil, Billa’s boss, on the phone. Additionally, he develops feelings for Maya (Anushka Shetty), a girl in the group who had been covertly preparing Billa’s murder as he killed Vikram and his fiancee Priya. Ranga then gives the ACP a pen drive containing classified data regarding the criminal organization, but he is set to be killed by Maya, who believes he is Billa.
The ACP shows up at this point and informs her that he is Ranga and not Billa. After that, she starts assisting Ranga and the ACP with their objective and quickly develops feelings for Ranga. Billa’s girlfriend, Lisa, overhears Ranga’s talk with the ACP later, just before a party, regarding a gathering of Billa’s network. She challenges Ranga, but he accidently murders her in the struggle. At the party, there is a gunfight, and someone stealthily kills the ACP, leaving his gun behind. Ranga discovers the body and gun of the ACP, but is detained by the police squad, which is now led by Interpol Officer Dharmendra.
During questioning, he tells Dharmendra that he is Ranga and not Billa. The pen drive, which Ranga claims to have as evidence and which would show his innocence, is nowhere to be discovered.
He flees from a police van without being able to show his innocence. Calling Dharmendra, he requests a meeting place at the Aero bridge. Here, it is made clear that Dharmendra is the person who murdered ACP Krishnamoorthy and is in fact the Underworld Crime Don Devil. In order to get away from Devil’s group, he makes a deal with Ranga and runs into Officer Adithya, who appears to have possessed the pen drive the entire time.
In the meantime, Devil has abducted Maya for trying to protect Ranga from Devil. Maya’s mouth is taped shut, and she is restrained and confined in a vehicle. Ranga chooses to impersonate Billa to Devil and gives Rashid, an armaments dealer who insists on doing business with Billa, Russian explosives. After the transaction is completed, Devil and his goon Ranjith battle Ranga out of wrath at Rashid’s slight. Soon after, the police showed up, and Devil, posing as Dharmendra, requested that Ranga, who was actually Billa, be arrested. However, because the police had wiretapped the entire discussion between Devil and Ranga, demonstrating Ranga’s innocence, Devil was shot and killed by the police squad.
Ranga and Maya return to Visakhapatnam at the end of the story, and Ranga decides to use the government prize and the four suitcases of cash he took from Billa’s Malaysian estate to open a school and college there.
