Story:

The 2020 Telugu-language comedy drama film Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya, also known by its initials UMUR, is directed by Venkatesh Maha and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni, and Vijaya Praveena Paruchuri under the respective banners of Arka Media Works and Manayana Motion Pictures. In addition to Naresh, Suhas, Raghavan, Hari Chandana, and Roopa Koduvayur, Satyadev plays Uma Maheswara Rao in the movie.

The movie is a remake of Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), a Malayalam film that was inspired by a real-life event involving Thuravoor, Cherthala native Thampan Purushan. It centers on photographer Uma Maheswara Rao, who gets struck down while attempting to diffuse a fight between his friend and other kids who are passing through their hamlet.

He feels humiliated in front of his neighbors after losing the struggle and being unable to fight back. Mahesh makes a public promise that he won’t put on his slippers once more until he exacts revenge for the humiliation.

The film’s principal photography took place in July 2019, with 62 days of shooting mostly in the Araku Valley. Bijibal, who composed the music for the original counterpart film, made his Telugu debut with the film’s soundtrack. Appu Prabhakar handled the cinematography, while Raviteja Girijala handled the editing.

The COVID-19 epidemic caused the film’s original April 17, 2020, theatrical premiere to be rescheduled. On July 30, 2020, the streaming service Netflix hosted its direct premiere. The film received positive reviews from critics, praising the performance of Satyadev, and the direction, screenplay and the adaptation.
