The film centers on the aimless youngster Surya (Sri Simha Koduri). His life completely changes the moment he buys his first bike. A mechanic portrayed by Ravindra Vijay gives it the name Ustaad. Surya develops an emotional bond with his bike, which inspires him to pursue a career in aviation. He also develops feelings for Meghana (Kavya Kalyanram). But Surya encounters obstacles in his romantic life.

Ustaad represents a new phase in Sri Simha’s acting career. Throughout the movie, the actor gave a brilliant performance that masterfully captured the range of emotions that were present in his character. He made a very convincing hot-blooded teenage character. We can first relate to the character since Sri Simha Koduri nailed the teenage parts with his appearance.

There are some good moments in the first half despite its pacing problems. It’s good how Surya’s character is first presented. In a pivotal sequence, the protagonist’s bike and his early recollections of his father serve as the catalyst for his development as a pilot. This sequence was masterfully written and filmed.

Well done, Kavya Kalyanram, on her part. One rising star in Tollywood to keep an eye on is Ravi Siva Teja. The young actor’s comedic timing and one-liners are flawless. He did a pretty good job as the friend of the hero. In her role, Anu Hasan is fine.
