Ishq: Not a Love Story

Story:

“Ishq: Not a Love Story” is a romantic thriller film in the Telugu language, released in 2021 and directed by S. S. Raju. Produced by Mega Super Good Films production studio, the movie features Teja Sajja and Priya Prakash Varrier in the lead roles. A remake of the 2019 Malayalam film with the same title, the film’s music is composed by Mahati Swara Sagar. It was released on July 30, 2021.

Plot

The storyline centers on Siddharth, also known as Siddhu, and his girlfriend, Anasuya, alias Anu.

Siddhu, employed at an IT firm, takes time off to attend his sister’s wedding. During a date with Anu, they encounter Madhav, who, with his friend, pretends to be a police officer, coercing Siddhu into driving them around. The situation becomes mentally taxing for Siddhu and Anu, with Madhav making advances on Anu in Siddhu’s absence. Eventually, Madhav’s friend leaves, Siddhu pays him off, and they go to Anu’s hostel in silence.

Frustrated, Siddhu questions Anu about the incident, leading to an argument. Siddhu drives back home angrily while Anu gets out of the car. Restless at home, Siddhu decides to seek revenge. He discovers that Madhav is an ambulance driver and his friend is a tailor. Siddhu goes to Madhav’s house, confronts him, and a fight ensues, resulting in Siddhu breaking Madhav’s legs.

Later, Siddhu torments Madhav’s wife and daughter in the same way he and Anu were mistreated. Madhav’s friends arrive, but Siddhu threatens Madhav, preventing him from seeking help. Jyothi, Madhav’s wife, overhears the truth about Madhav’s actions and confronts him. Siddhu apologizes to Jyothi and leaves.

The following night, Siddhu meets Anu, and they reconcile. The next day at the beach, Anu, still upset, questions Siddhu about abandoning her if Madhav had harmed her. Siddhu remains silent, shifts the conversation by proposing to Anu for her birthday, but she rejects him, realizing that Siddhu might not have accepted her under different circumstances, regardless of fault or misery.
