Kavin Raj

Biography:

Indian actor Kavin Raj primarily performs in Tamil films. He moved from the silver screen to the little screen. He first gained recognition for himself in the television series Saravanan Meenatchi, where he played the evil Vettaiyan, who eventually became a hero. Kavin participated in Season 3 of Bigg Boss in 2019. His big break came from playing the lead in box office hits like Dada (2023) and Lift (2021) .

Kavin went to Star Vijay auditions while he was a student at Loyola College. Initially, he made a debut in television serials as a student in the collegiate adaptation of Kana Kaanum Kaalangal. He carried on with Star Vijay, making guest appearances in the first season of Saravanan Meenatchi and Thayumanavan in supporting roles.

As a Loyola College student, Kavin attended Star Vijay auditions. In the beginning, he appeared in television serials as a student in the Kana Kaanum Kaalangal college version. Following his tenure at Star Vijay, he made supporting guest appearances in the first season of Saravanan Meenatchi and Thayumanavan.

In late 2016, Kavin acted in two films: the lead role in Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma (2019) and the supporting role in Sathriyan (2017) by S. R. Prabhakaran. He had minor, unimportant roles in Karthik Subbaraj’s Pizza (2012) and Ravikumar’s Indru Netru Naalai (2015) before these movies.

Mixed reviews were eventually received for Sathriyan, which starred Vikram Prabhu and Manjima Mohan. Kavin, who played a doctor opposite Aishwarya Dutta in the movie, also received mixed reviews.

Ennanu Natpuna Theriyuma witnessed him hang out with director Shiva Aravind, with whom he had gotten to know when working with Star Vijay. Together, they worked on the writing.

He portrayed a man in the movie whose life transforms upon meeting Remya Nambeesan’s character, the main character. The producer wanted to release the movie as widely as possible throughout Tamil Nadu, hence there were multiple delays. When the movie was finally released in 2019, reviews were conflicting.

After participating in the third season of Bigg Boss Tamil, Kavin gained notoriety. He was then chosen to play the lead role in Vineeth Varaprasad’s Lift, which was published on OTT and received a favorable reception.

In Doctor (2021), he served as an assistant director. On February 11, 2022, his romance online serial Akash Vaani was published. He went on to star in Dada, the highly regarded and financially successful film. His film Star was released in 2024 to a range of reviews, from favorable to mixed.
