Dada

Story:

Dada is a 2023 coming-of-age love comedy drama film in the Tamil language, produced by S. Ambeth Kumar and directed by Ganesh K. Babu in his directing debut. The film has Kavin and Aparna Das in the key roles, with supporting roles played by K. Bhagyaraj, Aishwariyaa Bhaskaran, and VTV Ganesh. Jen Martin composed the music, and Kathiresh Alagesan and K. Ezhil Arasu worked on the editing and cinematography, respectively.

Dada received favorable reviews from critics when it was first shown in theaters on February 10, 2023, and it quickly became a financial success.

Plot

The final-year college students Manikandan and Sindhu are romantically involved. Their lives are altered when Sindhu becomes pregnant. After Sindhu declines Mani’s request for an abortion, they both rent a home.

Mani mistreats Sindhu by ignoring her and showing no concern for her because of his drunkenness. When Mani arrives at the hospital after Sindhu gives birth, she finds that Sindhu has vanished and has left the child behind. Mani takes good care of the infant, naming him Aditya, and brings him up to be a gentleman.

A few years later, Mani looks for work and eventually finds one when he meets Sindhu. Mani is initially anxious to work at the office because she knows she is the company manager, but she eventually begins to feel at ease there. Mani takes Aditya to his office one day. Sindhu realizes that Aditya is her son when he informs her that his father is Mani and that Aditya is the name she picked.

Once this is realized, Sindhu talks to Mani, who questions him about leaving the baby even though he is adamant about getting an abortion. As a result of Mani’s reckless behavior throughout her pregnancy, Sindhu claims that her parents had lied to her about the baby’s death, leading her to leave him. Aditya, Sindhu, and Mani get back together as a family after settling the confusion.
