B. Gopal

Biography:

Indian director Bejawada Gopal specializes in Telugu movies. In addition to successful films like Samarasimha Reddy, Narasimha Naidu, Indra, and Maska, he has directed over 30 Telugu movies, including Bobbili Raja, Lorry Driver, Assembly Rowdy, State Rowdy, Rowdy Inspector, and Rowdy Inspector. For the movie Samarasimha Reddy, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Director. He also helmed the Hindi flicks Kanoon Apna Apna and Insaaf Ki Awaaz.

B. Gopal was born to B. Venkateswarulu and Mahalakshmi in the M. Nidamanuru village near Tangutur in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. Subba Rao, his brother, and Suseela, his sister, are his siblings. In Karumanchi, he completed his education. Later, he studied at Ongole’s C.S.R. Sarma College. After completing his studies, he decided to pursue a career in film with the approval of his father. He is Venu Thottempudi, a Telugu actor,’s uncle.

Under P. C. Reddy, he began his career as an assistant director. After working on two movies with him as a mentor, he was given the chance to work as K. Raghavendra Rao’s assistant director on Adavi Ramudu. He regards K. Raghavendra Rao as his industry mentor and guru. He was his boss for over 12 years while he was employed by Adavi Ramudu, Devatha, Justice Chowdary, Agni Parvatam, etc. While serving as an associate director for Devatha in 1982, Dr. Daggubati Ramanaidu, the movie’s producer, saw him. Ramanaidu, who was impressed by his skills and expertise, offered him the chance to helm a movie for his production company. As a result, B. Gopal made his directing debut with the Sharada, Arjun, and Rajani-starring film Prathidvani.
