Plot
Episode 1: “Wednesday’s Child Is Full of Woe”
Wednesday Addams is sent to Nevermore Academy after a violent incident at her previous school, where she begins experiencing psychic visions and uncovering dark secrets. As she navigates new relationships and threats, she survives a murder attempt when a mysterious monster kills her attacker.
Episode 2: “Woe Is the Loneliest Number”
Wednesday becomes suspicious of the ongoing murders and starts her own investigation, especially after Rowan, presumed dead, mysteriously reappears. As she uncovers secrets involving shapeshifting and a hidden student society, she wins a rigged tournament and discovers a hidden library—only to be captured.
Episode 3: “Friend or Woe”
Wednesday is captured by a secret student society but escapes with a mysterious book that deepens her investigation. Her visions reveal a connection to an ancestor persecuted by the town’s founder, and after identifying the monster as human, she disrupts a local ceremony, leading to new evidence from a forest crime scene.
Episode 4: “Woe What a Night”
Wednesday continues her investigation by breaking into the coroner’s office with Thing, discovering that the monster surgically removes body parts from its victims. Her suspicion falls on Xavier after finding his drawings and the monster’s cave. She collects a claw for DNA testing and attends the school dance with Tyler. Meanwhile, Eugene sees someone destroy the monster’s cave and is later attacked. Wednesday rushes to the forest and finds him severely injured, confirming the danger is far from over.
Episode 5: “You Reap What You Woe”
32 years ago, Gomez Addams was accused of killing Garrett Gates at Nevermore. During Parents’ Weekend in the present, the Addams family visits Wednesday, and a tense family therapy session prompts her to question the past. Sheriff Galpin arrests Gomez after learning the coroner faked Garrett’s autopsy report. Gomez later reveals he was protecting Morticia, who actually killed Garrett in self-defense. Wednesday and Morticia exhume Garrett’s body and discover he was poisoned before the killing. Confronted by the Addamses, Mayor Walker admits Garrett planned to poison the school out of hatred for outcasts and agrees to release Gomez. Meanwhile, Principal Weems confesses to hiding Rowan’s death using her shapeshifting ability to avoid scandal.
Episode 6: “Quid Pro Woe”
Wednesday tries to contact her ancestor Goody, a psychic who once defeated Crackstone. During a surprise birthday party, she experiences a vision where Goody urges her to investigate the Gates mansion. There, Wednesday sees Mayor Walker leaving and secretly follows him by hiding in his car. After returning to town, the mayor is hit by a car and critically injured. Principal Weems locks down the school, but with help from Tyler and Enid, Wednesday sneaks out and goes back to the mansion. They uncover evidence suggesting Laurel Gates—Garrett’s supposedly deceased sister—might be alive. In a hidden cellar, they discover dismembered body parts from the monster’s victims but are forced to flee when the monster attacks. Wednesday brings Sheriff Galpin to the scene, but the cellar has been cleared. Back at Nevermore, she persuades Principal Weems to let her stay and continue investigating. Meanwhile, at the hospital, an unknown person murders Mayor Walker.
Episode 7: “If You Don’t Woe Me by Now”
During Mayor Walker’s funeral, Wednesday spots a suspicious figure and chases it into the woods. The figure turns out to be her Uncle Fester, who informs her that the creature she’s been investigating is called a Hyde. They uncover a hidden diary in the library that reveals every Hyde is controlled by a master. Later, they secretly follow Xavier and see him meeting Dr. Kinbott, Wednesday’s therapist, in the forest. After a date with Tyler, Wednesday returns to find her room trashed, her diary stolen, and Thing seriously wounded. Her investigation leads her to believe Laurel Gates is alive and is the Hyde’s master. She suspects Dr. Kinbott, but the therapist is soon killed by the Hyde. The police arrest Xavier, whom Wednesday accuses of being the monster. However, after kissing Tyler, she has a sudden vision revealing that he is the real Hyde—and she runs away in shock.
Episode 8: “A Murder of Woes”
Wednesday and her classmates capture Tyler, and she tortures him in an attempt to force a confession. Disturbed by her actions, her friends inform Principal Weems, leading to Wednesday’s arrest. While at the police station, Tyler quietly admits to Wednesday that he is the monster. Weems, having had enough of her behavior, expels Wednesday from Nevermore. She and Weems then visit Eugene in the hospital, where Eugene’s description of a person near the monster’s cave matches Ms. Thornhill, a teacher at Nevermore.
In a plan to expose her, Weems disguises herself as Tyler and confronts Thornhill with Wednesday. Thornhill confesses to being Laurel Gates and reveals she used Tyler to kill people as part of her plan to resurrect Joseph Crackstone and destroy all outcasts. She then kills Weems and incapacitates Wednesday. Using Wednesday’s blood, Laurel brings Crackstone back to life and leaves Wednesday for dead. However, Goody appears and heals her.
Enid, who finally transforms into a werewolf, defeats Tyler in his Hyde form. Meanwhile, Crackstone attacks Nevermore, but with help from Bianca, Wednesday destroys him. Eugene also aids in defeating Laurel. In the aftermath, Xavier is freed, Tyler is captured, and Nevermore Academy shuts down for the rest of the semester, prompting Wednesday to leave.
