Joy Sunday (born September 25, 1996) is an American actress recognized for her work in television, particularly in Dear White People and Wednesday. Her film appearances include supporting roles in Bad Hair, Shithouse, and Dog.
Born in Staten Island, New York, to a Nigerian family, Sunday studied theatre at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School before earning a degree in critical studies from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles. Alongside her education, she collaborated with the Tribeca Film Institute, creating several short films.
She made her TV debut in 2018 with a guest role on MacGyver. Her performance in Bad Hair in 2020 led to her joining the Screen Actors Guild. That same year, she played Sophia in Shithouse and made a guest appearance in Dear White People.
Subsequently, she appeared in The Beta Test and Dog. Her breakout came in 2022 when she played Bianca Barclay in Tim Burton’s Netflix series Wednesday.
