Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986, in New York City, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress known for her powerful voice, provocative visuals, and reinvention of pop culture. Raised on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, she began playing piano at age four and was performing in nightclubs by her teens. Gaga briefly attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts before leaving to pursue music full time.

She rose to prominence with her debut album The Fame in 2008, which spawned international hits like “Just Dance” and “Poker Face,” blending electronic dance music with theatrical flair.
