Story:

Director Prabhu Deva’s 2011 action movie Vedi is set in Tamil. Vishal, Sameera Reddy, and Poonam Kaur are the film’s main actors; Sayaji Shinde, Urvashi, and Vivek have minor parts. Reimagined from the immensely popular Telugu movie Souryam, the movie debuted on September 30, 2011, in 250 theaters around Tamil Nadu, 62 theaters in Kerala, and 28 theaters in Karnataka.

Plot

In Vedi, a young police officer named Prabhakaran (Vishal) goes to Kolkata in quest of his sister Aishwarya (Poonam Kaur). In Thoothukudi, his hometown, Prabhakaran had become hostile with a local don by the name of Easwaramoorthy (Sayaji Shinde) after beating him up in public and imprisoning him. When Easwaramoorthy teams up with another local thug to exact revenge on Prabhakaran, the animosity reaches Kolkata.

Aishwarya and her companion Parvathy (Sameera Reddy), who develops feelings for Prabhakaran, are troubled by the bad guys. A flashback featuring Prabhakaran is shown while the animosity between him and Easwaramoorthy persists. Because their father was a smuggler, the society mistreated Prabhakaran and Aishwarya. Declaring that he has no idea who Aishwarya is, Prabhakaran chooses to place her in an orphanage. This damages Prabhakaran’s reputation in Aishwarya’s writings.

Aishwarya later moves to Kolkata after being adopted by a North Indian family. Prabhakaran battles Easwaramoorthy and his deviant son Rajapandi (Amit Kumar Tiwari) in a parallel plot. They murder his mentor, who helped him become a police officer, and on the day when Easwaramoorthy receives his PhD, Rajapandi is enticed by a female constable outside the stadium and rapes her in his car.

Aishwarya is placed back in an orphanage after her foster parents pass away in an accident a few years later. Because he fears that Aishwarya could reject him, Prabhakaran travels to Kolkata and poses as Balu, a college physical trainer. The movie’s thrilling conclusion shows how Prabhakaran vanquishes the villains and teams up with Aishwarya.
