Plot
Satya arrives in Mumbai in search of employment and starts working at a dance bar. During one shift, a gangster named Jagga throws a drink Satya made in his face, displeased with the taste. Later, Jagga’s associate Pakya demands money from Satya, who refuses and retaliates by slashing Pakya’s face with a razor. In response, Jagga’s men beat Satya. Meanwhile, under the orders of gangster Bhiku Mhatre, Bapu and Vitthal Manjrekar assassinate a film producer. Manjrekar is caught during their escape and, under police interrogation, implicates Mhatre, who is then arrested.
While Satya is serving drinks again, Jagga mocks him, leading to a confrontation. Jagga later frames Satya for procuring. In prison, Satya fights Mhatre. Impressed by Satya’s fearlessness, Mhatre arranges for his release through lawyer Chandrakant Mule. After his release, Satya is given a flat by Kallu Mama and meets his neighbor Vidya, an aspiring singer. In court, Manjrekar retracts his statement against Mhatre, securing Mhatre’s freedom. With Mhatre’s backing, Satya kills Jagga in the dance bar and officially becomes part of his gang. During an extortion attempt, Mhatre, Satya, and their crew are ambushed by builder Malhotra, who had tipped off the police. Under pressure, they admit ties to crime lord Guru Narayan.
Vidya initially fails to land a music project but is later signed after Satya threatens the music director. The two fall in love. Guru Narayan arrives in Mumbai, but Mhatre is told by politician Bhau Thakurdas Jhawle to avoid a gang war for political reasons. Although Guru secretly expresses a desire to kill Satya, Mhatre agrees to maintain peace. However, Satya convinces Mhatre that eliminating Guru Narayan is necessary for their survival. The gang kills Guru Narayan, putting them at odds with Bhau.
As crime surges, a new police commissioner, Amodh Shukla, is appointed. Bhau pardons Mhatre and his gang for their previous actions. Later, Chander Khote, a member of Mhatre’s gang, is killed in a police encounter. On Satya’s suggestion, Shukla is targeted and wounded to send a message. Mhatre helps Bhau win the election in return.
Satya and Vidya visit a cinema, but during intermission, Pakya spots Satya and tips off the police. Inspector Khandilkar locks all exits except one to trap him, but Satya fires a blank, causes panic, and escapes with Vidya. Fearing for their safety, Mhatre offers to relocate them to Dubai. However, Mhatre is betrayed and killed by Bhau for defying him. Satya, now on the run, lies to Vidya about a job abroad. She later learns from Khandilkar that Satya is involved in crime.
Satya seeks refuge at Kallu Mama’s place. When Mule orders Mama to kill Satya, Mama instead kills Mule, and both he and Satya vow to avenge Mhatre. During Ganesh Chaturthi, Satya assassinates Bhau but is wounded. Planning to escape to Dubai, Satya insists on seeing Vidya one last time. As he arrives at her house, Khandilkar follows and kills Mama. Satya breaks into Vidya’s home, but is shot by Khandilkar and collapses near her, dying on the spot.
