Story:

“Sardar” is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language spy action-thriller film written and directed by P. S. Mithran and produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under Prince Pictures. The movie stars Karthi in a dual role alongside Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Pandey, Laila, Rithvik, Munishkanth, Avinash, Yugi Sethu, and Balaji Sakthivel in key roles.

The music for “Sardar” is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography by George C. Williams and editing by Ruben. Notably, the film marks the debut of Hindi film actor Chunky Panday in Tamil cinema and marks Laila’s comeback to the industry.

Principal photography for the film commenced in April 2021 and took place in various locations including Chennai, Mumbai, Mysore, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

“Sardar” was theatrically released on October 21, 2022, just before the Diwali week. The film received highly positive reviews from both critics and audiences, and it proved to be a critical and commercial success. With a worldwide gross of over ₹103.50 crore (US$13 million), it emerged as one of the top-grossing Tamil films of 2022.

Due to its success, a sequel to “Sardar” is currently in development, further expanding the story and universe created in the original film.
