Laila

Biography:

Laila is an Indian actress born on October 24, 1980. She made her acting debut in the middle of the 1990s and has since primarily appeared in Tamil and Telugu films, along with a few Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi productions.

On January 6, 2006, Laila wed Mehdi, an Iranian businessman. Before being married, she dated him for eight years. Laila claims that before being married, they were engaged for four years. The two sons of the marriage. She is a Roman Catholic and a Goan.

Laila made her screen debuts in the Telugu film Egire Paavurama, directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy, and Dushman Duniya Ka. Prominent directors started approaching Laila with offers to appear in Tamil films; she declined offers for roles in films like Dharma Chakkaram and Kadhal Palli, directed by K. S. Ravikumar and Pavithran, respectively. Afterwards, after Pooja Kumar left the production, she agreed to reprise the lead role in VIP. Laila, however, was not impressed when the producer suggested that she think about adopting the stage name Pooja because the movie’s invites had already been printed. Moreover, she disclosed that she was not aware that Rambha was also a heroine in the movie. Laila then left the programme.

After that, Laila collaborated with Ajith on Dheena and Prashanth on Parthen Rasithen.

Next, Dhill, Pithamagan, and Vikram arrived. Laila returned to Mumbai to take a rest in between. Nonetheless, she made a spectacular comeback to Kollywood. She received praise from the public for her performance in the film Ullam Ketkumae. For a short while, she was a popular Tamil actress.

Laila has returned to the entertainment scene in Tamil Nadu. After taking a hiatus in 2018, she made her debut in a ready-made flavoured milk commercial. She co-starred with actors Sudha Chandran and Sneha as a judge on Zed Tamil’s DJD Juniors dance programme. In the film Sardar (2022), she made her film debut after taking a break.
