TheatreUppalapati Narayana Rao is the writer and director of the 1993 Telugu action movie Rakshana. Venkat Akkineni produced it under the Annapurna Studios banner. M. M. Keeravani created the song, which stars Nagarjuna and Shobhana.
The movie was a box office success when it was first released and had mostly positive reviews. Ranked among the best Telugu cop films, it was then remade in Tamil and released as Kaaval Thurai.
Plot
After being transferred from Visakhapatnam, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bose (Nagarjuna) assumes command of Hyderabad and begins a tenacious pursuit to capture the criminal brothers Chinna (Salim Ghouse) and Nalla Seenu (Kota Srinivasa Rao), who is also a well-known politician.
When Bose and his companion capture Chinna to be questioned, Chinna uses his political connections to kill Bose’s friend. Chinna eventually takes Bose’s daughter hostage. The remainder of the story tells how Bose banishes the mafia ring and saves his daughter.
