Raghu Balaiah, famously known as Junior Balaiah, was born on 28 June 1953 and is an Indian actor renowned for his roles in Tamil films. The son of the well-known actor T. S. Balaiah, Junior Balaiah has predominantly taken on supporting roles during his extensive four-decade-long career.
Born as Raghu Balaiah in Chennai, he was the third son of actor T. S. Balaiah. He hails from Sundankottai, presently located in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu. Junior Balaiah embraced Evangelism and Christianity for personal reasons.
Junior Balaiah’s debut film as an actor was marred by the unfortunate demise of his father, T. S. Balaiah, just three days into its production. The movie, titled “Suttaan Sutten” and directed by M. R. Radha, was interrupted by this event. Despite appearing in numerous films afterward, he struggled to attain the same success as his father. Financial difficulties led him to bankruptcy. Subsequently, he turned to Christianity and initiated the Healing Stripes Ministry, a healing center.
In the 2010s, Junior Balaiah made infrequent film appearances but gained recognition for his role as a headmaster in “Saattai” (2012). He featured in four films in 2015, including “Thani Oruvan” and “Puli.” In 2014, he unveiled his plans to venture into film production to launch his son’s acting career.
