Biography:

Salim Ghouse, a versatile Indian actor renowned for his contributions to film, television, and theater, as well as his expertise in martial arts, passed away on April 28, 2022. Born in Chennai on January 10, 1952, he hailed from a diverse background, with a Muslim father and a Christian mother. His educational journey took him through Christchurch School and Presidency College in Chennai, culminating in his graduation from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India in Pune.

Throughout his illustrious career, Salim Ghouse left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. He became a household name with his role in the TV series “Subah” and gained acclaim for portraying iconic figures such as Rama, Krishna, and Tipu Sultan in Shyam Benegal’s TV series “Bharat Ek Khoj.” Additionally, he graced the small screen with his presence in the TV serial “Wagle Ki Duniya.”

In the realm of cinema, Salim Ghouse showcased his acting prowess in various languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and English. His notable roles included playing the antagonist in the Tamil film “Vettri Vizhaa” alongside Kamal Haasan and starring alongside Mohanlal in the classic Malayalam movie “Thazhvaram,” directed by Bharathan. He also left his mark as a villain in Mani Ratnam’s “Thiruda Thiruda” and shared the screen with Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan in the 1997 film “Koyla.” Sadly, Salim Ghouse passed away at the age of 70 in Mumbai due to a cardiac arrest, with his final rites conducted on the morning of April 28, 2022.
