Pandurangadu

Story:

Based on the life of Pundarika, Pandurangadu is a 2008 Telugu-language biographical film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and produced by K. Krishna Mohana Rao under the banner of R. K. Film Associates. featuring Tabu, Sneha, and Nandamuri Balakrishna, with music by M. M. Keeravani. The movie is a remake of Panduranga Mahatyam (1957), starring N. T. Rama Rao. Despite getting great reviews, the movie was a box office failure.

Pundarika Ranganathudu follows Lord Krishna, but he does so for the wrong motives and disregards his parents. He engages in all of Lord Krishna’s malicious activities during his rule. He once fled his village after receiving a marriage proposal from his family. He returns to his village following a yagnam performed by his family. Lakshmi, who lives next door, is a devoted follower of Lord Krishna. She had a dream one night where Lord Krishna begs to marry Pundarika. Pundarika is approached by Lakshmi’s father, but he declines. Later, Pundarika agrees to the marriage after Lakshmi gently convinces her. Amrutha, a dancer, visits their community in the meantime.

Pundarika falls in love with her after becoming enthralled with her beauty. He offers her every bit of gold in his home. However, following the marriage, he no longer sees Amrutha. Pundarika becomes enraged at the sound of a tiny sound and takes all of his wealth when he finds out that Amrutha’s mother has called him in for dinner and served Kala Kuta Rasayana. After that, he lands in an unidentified location, kicks a saint, and gets cursed. The remainder of the movie centres on Pundarika’s transformation into a Lord Krishna follower and his return to his family.
