V. Jayaram (1951-2021) was a veteran Telugu and Malayalam cinematographer who worked on over 100 films. He was known for his beautiful and evocative visuals, which helped to create some of the most iconic films in Telugu and Malayalam cinema.
Jayaram was born in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India. He started his career as a still photographer before making his debut as a cinematographer with the 1981 Malayalam film Mrugaya. He went on to work on some of the biggest Telugu and Malayalam films of all time, including Devasuram (1993), Pelli Sandadi (1996), Paradesi (1997), and Pandurangadu (2008).
Jayaram was a master of light and composition. His visuals were often characterized by their richness and depth, and he was able to create a wide range of moods and atmospheres with his camera.
