Meghna Naidu

Meghna Naidu, an Indian actress born on September 19, 1980, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has primarily been active in the Hindi film industry but has also made appearances in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Bengali cinema.

Her initial claim to fame came through the music video for UMI10’s “Kaliyon Ka Chaman” (2002), a remix of Lata Mangeshkar’s classic track “Thoda Resham Lagta Hai” from 1981. Following this, she featured in Saru Maini’s “Dil De Diya Tha (Sutta Mix)” music video before venturing into Indian films.

Growing up in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she attended Bhavan’s College, Andheri, and earned a B.Com degree. She also dedicated seven years to classical bharatanatyam training and pursued tennis coaching in the United States for four years.

Her foray into acting began at 18 when she was approached during a visit to Chennai for a screen test. She made her debut in the Telugu film “Prema Sakshi” (1999) and later appeared in one more Telugu and two Kannada films. However, her breakthrough came with the music video “Kaliyon Ka Chaman,” catapulting her to recognition. She then became a sought-after performer, both on Indian and international stages.

Meghna Naidu entered Bollywood with the film “Hawas” (2004) and subsequently took on lead roles in movies like “Classic Dance of Love” (2005) and “Rain: The Terror Within…” (2005). Later in her career, she often made special appearances in South Indian films’ item numbers.

Apart from her film career, she participated in television shows like “Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi” and “Dancing Queen” and portrayed the character of Benazir in the TV series “Jodha Akbar.”

In her personal life, Meghna Naidu began a relationship with tennis player Luis Miguel Reis in 2011, eventually marrying him on December 12, 2016. They reside in Dubai, with Meghna frequently traveling to India for her work commitments.
