Story:

“Massu Engira Masilamani,” previously titled “Masss,” is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language action horror comedy film directed by Venkat Prabhu. Produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green and Aadnah Arts, the movie boasts an ensemble cast featuring Suriya, Nayanthara, Pranitha Subhash, Premgi, Parthiban, and Samuthirakani.

Yuvan Shankar Raja contributed to the film’s soundtrack and score, while R. D. Rajasekhar handled cinematography, and Praveen K. L. managed editing.

The narrative centers around Masss, a cunning con artist, whose life takes a paranormal turn after a car accident claims his partner in crime, Jettu. In the realm of spirits, Masss encounters Shakthi, a vengeful ghost seeking retribution for his family’s murders. As the plot unfolds, Masss, Shakthi, and Jettu embark on a journey intertwined with crime, deception, and supernatural encounters.

The film’s production commenced in July 2014, spanning diverse locations in India and Bulgaria. Despite initially being titled “Masss,” the movie underwent a name change to “Massu Engira Masilamani” to secure entertainment tax exemption. Released on May 29, 2015, the film achieved success, simultaneously launching in Telugu as “Rakshasudu” and later remade in Bengali as “Naqaab.”

The storyline unfolds with Masss navigating through his newfound ability to communicate with ghosts, leading to a revelation about Shakthi’s past and the malevolent forces responsible for his family’s demise. Masss, driven by a desire for redemption and justice, undergoes a transformation, fulfilling the spirits’ last wishes.

The narrative reaches its climax with Masss facing the orchestrator of his family’s tragedy, R.K., in a suspenseful and dramatic confrontation.
