Story:

In the cinematic landscape of 2012, B. Jaya left her mark with “Lovely,” a Telugu-language romantic comedy film that she both wrote and directed. The creative helm was complemented by B. A. Raju’s production, and the film’s musical composition was orchestrated by Anup Rubens.

Aadi and Shanvi Srivastava took center stage as the lead actors in this venture, which emerged as a collaborative effort between R. R. Movie Makers and RJ Cinemas. B. Jaya, demonstrating her multifaceted skills, not only directed but also handled the editing and screenplay aspects of the film.

Released on March 30, 2012, “Lovely” found success at the box office, earning it a hit status. The film’s popularity transcended language barriers, as it was later dubbed into Hindi with the title “Vijay Meri Hai.” Additionally, in 2019, the film was remade in Odia under the title “Selfish Dil.”

The narrative unfolds with Akash (Aadi), a pragmatic and easy-going young man who harbors a less-than-favorable opinion about women and love stories. His friend Kittu (Vennela Kishore), entangled in a Facebook relationship with a girl named Lalli (Chinmayee Ghatrazu), hesitates to meet her in person.

Fearing rejection, Kittu enlists Akash to take his place. On the flip side, Lalli sends her friend Lavanya (Shanvi) to the rendezvous. A serendipitous love story commences, with Akash and Lavanya quickly forming a deep connection. However, their happiness is tested when Lavanya’s father, Mangalampalli Maharadhi (Rajendra Prasad), disapproves of Akash’s behavior, setting the stage for Akash to win him over.

The film’s cast, including Aadi, Shanvi, Vennela Kishore, and others, was announced well in advance, creating anticipation among the audience. Dr. Rajendra Prasad played a pivotal role in adding depth to the narrative. “Lovely” celebrated milestones in its theatrical run, completing 50 days in 34 centers on May 18, 2012, and reaching the 100-day mark in 12 centers on July 7, 2012.
