Biography:

B. Jaya, a notable figure in Tollywood, held the dual roles of a film director and journalist. Her academic journey began with an MA in English from Chennai University, complemented by a diploma in Journalism from the same institution. Not stopping there, she pursued further education, earning an MA in Psychology from Annamalai University. In a significant chapter of her personal life, Jaya tied the knot with the renowned Public Relations Officer (PRO) BA Raju.

Post-education, Jaya embarked on her professional journey as a writer for the Telugu daily newspaper Andhra Jyothy. Her contributions were not only limited to the publication but extended specifically to the Jyothi Chitra section, focusing on news related to the Telugu cinema industry. This role marked the beginning of her deep involvement in the world of cinema journalism.

Transitioning from a writer to a director, Jaya achieved a milestone with her directorial debut in the form of the successful 2003 film titled Chantigadu. This marked a significant turning point in her career, establishing her as a capable director in the Tollywood landscape.

Tragically, the world lost B. Jaya on August 30, 2018, to a heart attack. Her passing occurred in Hyderabad, leaving behind a legacy of notable contributions to both journalism and the Telugu film industry. The impact of her work, from her early days as a writer to her directorial success, remains a testament to her influence in the realms of Tollywood and journalism alike.
