Plot
There has been animosity between the adjoining villages of Puliyankulam and Veppankulam for a few centuries. The locals hold Periyasamy, a Hindu from Puliyankulam, in high regard. Veppankulam-born Michael Soosai is an ardent Protestant who has little faith in other faiths. The son of Periyasamy, Sakthivel attends a Nagercoil college. Michael’s daughter, Angel, studies at the same university. After meeting in college, Sakthivel and Angel fall in love.
Angel fears that her father will never permit her to wed a Hindu, particularly one who comes from the opposite village. Michael and Periyasamy become aware of Sakthivel and Angel’s relationship. Infuriated, Michael chastises his daughter, and Periyasamy consents to the marriage.
Michael makes the decision to make his daughter a nun since he does not wish to marry someone of a different religion. When Periyasamy shows up, he comes clean and tells everyone that Angel Devi is actually Michael Susai’s adoptive daughter, born to Muslim parents Jaffer Hussain and Ayesha Beevi under the real name Fathima Begum. After realizing his error, Michael consents to the wedding.
