Prasad V. Potluri

Biography:

Potluri Vara Prasad is an Indian politician, businessman, and entrepreneur who was born on September 8, 1970. He is both the managing director and executive director of Picturehouse Media Ltd. and the executive chairman and managing director of PVP Ventures Ltd.

Potluri Raghavendra Rao and P Manga Taradevi welcomed Potluri Prasad into the world in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. There are two siblings for him. He went to Vijayawada’s NSM Public School before graduating from Nagarjuna University with a mechanical engineering degree. He graduated from an Australian institution in 1994 with a Master’s degree, and he then moved to the US in 1995. He started the IT services business Procon in 1996, which RCM Technologies eventually purchased in 1998. Prasad was a co-founder of Irevna, a knowledge process outsourcing services provider that CRISIL purchased in 2005. He founded PVP Ventures, a publicly traded company that finances the media and entertainment industries, in 2006. Under Prasad’s direction, PVP Ventures signed the Hyderabad Hotshots franchise in the Indian Badminton League, which they played in the league’s first season in 2013, and the company also started producing movies with PVP Cinema.

As the principal benefactor of the Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of Technology and a patron of the L. V. Prasad Eye Institute, Prasad is also involved in charity. He currently has strategic holdings in Karvy Consultants, Maven Corp, and was a founding investor in CBay Systems.
