Living in the neighborhood is Chamundeswari (Manisha Koirala), whose initial clashes with Baba eventually give way to an unexpected attraction to his unique persona.
Baba clashes with Deputy Chief Minister’s son, leading to colony demolition. He rebuilds, joining a shop as a laborer. Chamundeswari’s mother forces her to break off their engagement due to his labor work. Baba realizes marriage brings accountability and interprets it as illusion, ending the relationship.
A dishevelled sadhu guides Baba to Mahavatar Babaji in the Himalayas. Babaji bestows seven wishes upon him, but warns of karmic consequences for personal gain. Back in Chennai, Baba tests the wishes on kites, bewildered by their magical fulfillment. Meanwhile, Chamundeswari, learning about Baba’s true nature from his mother, attempts reconciliation. Heartbroken, Baba rejects her, claiming his love has faded.
Baba, unconvinced by the first wishes, uses the remaining two on insignificant tasks. His skeptical nature upsets his uncle, who suffers chest pain and urges him to use a wish for his surroundings to truly believe. As promised, the fifth wish leads to government renovations. This revelation transforms Baba, who abandons alcohol and embraces spirituality. He saves the remaining two wishes for his mother, but uses the penultimate one to revive a poisoned Japanese neighbor. Ramaswamy learns of the wishes from Baba’s betrayer.
Baba decides to live under Babaji’s tutelage since he now disdains living in the materialistic world without his mother. To know why he started trusting the world please watch the film.
