Sunny M.R. is a multifaceted talent hailing from India, has made his mark as a music composer, music producer, sound engineer, and playback singer. His notable contributions include the musical scores for Telugu films like “Swamy Ra Ra” (2013) and “Uyyala Jampala” (2013), where his innovative approach to music garnered acclaim. Musicperk.com, in its review, awarded the album a commendable 8/10, describing it as a “fresh waft of cool music” and praising the blend of experimental magic with simplicity.

His excellence extended beyond regional cinema, earning him accolades such as the Global Indian Music Award and the Mirchi Music Award for the Hindi film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (2013) in the categories of “Best Music Arranger cum Programmer” and “Song Programmer cum Arranger of the Year” in 2014. Sunny M.R.’s journey in the realm of music began with his education at St. Anne’s High School in Patna.

Following his academic pursuits, he ventured into the professional sphere by joining as a sound engineer to assist his accomplished brother, Shadab Rayeen. Remarkably, within six months, Sunny became an independent sound engineer, showcasing his early prowess in the field. His skills encompassed mixing, arranging, and composing, primarily honed during his six-year tenure at Keerthana Digital Studios in Hyderabad, Telangana.

During his stint at Keerthana Digital Studios, Sunny collaborated on 350 albums, mastering ragas from Carnatic music. Despite an initial aversion to Carnatic tunes, he eventually developed a profound appreciation, recognizing the harmonized connection between jazz and Carnatic music. This transformative realization led him to embrace and create albums infused with Carnatic ragas.

The next chapter in Sunny’s journey unfolded as he moved to Mumbai with the goal of meeting Sandeep Chowta, a notable figure in the music industry. Joining as a sound engineer, he found inspiration from late Anil Kumar, a music director, and Krishna Chaitanya, a Telugu songs lyricist, both of whom motivated Sunny to venture into the realm of music direction.

Sudheer Varma, the director of the Telugu film “Swamy Ra Ra,” recognized Sunny’s potential, leading to his selection as the music director for the film. Sunny M.R. is also a member of the innovative Open Music Community called Blogswara. His entry as a music director received commendation from the Blogswara team, further validating his creative contributions to the world of music. Sunny’s diverse talents and willingness to explore various musical genres make him a dynamic force in the Indian music industry.
