Swamy Ra Ra

Story:

In 2013, Sudheer Varma made his directorial debut with the Telugu-language criminal comedy film Swamy Ra Ra. Chakri Chigurupati, under the banner of Lakshmi Narasimha Entertainments, produced the film. Alongside Nikhil Siddharth and Swathi Reddy in supporting roles are Satya, Pooja Ramachandran, and Ravi Babu. In the movie, a violent goon chases Surya and his pickpocket buddies while they attempt to deliver a stolen golden Vinayaka statue to a minister.

After its premiere on March 23, 2013, the movie was a sleeper hit at the box office. Film Companion named it one of the “25 Greatest Telugu Films Of The Decade”; it was also remade in Odia as Hey Prabhu Dekha De (2014) and Kannada as Jamboo Savari (2014).

With the assistance of a security guard, the resident priest of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple steals a gold Vinayaka idol valued at around ₹10 crore (US$1.3 million). The idol, which is indeed a piece of the recently discovered temple treasure, is purchased by an enigmatic individual who perishes in a vehicle crash. A young child picks up the idol from the floor and gives it to a friend. For ₹6,000 (US$75), the man sells this idol to a goldsmith in Alappuzha, Kerala. For ₹37,000, the goldsmith sells it to a wealthy man in Mangalore, Karnataka. At ₹190,000 (US$2,400), he then sells it to another wealthy man in Shimoga. For ₹50,000, this idol is sold to another wealthy man in Bellary.
